The Are You Prepared-project, consists of an online instrument as well as a sample collection, both made from recordings of the rare so-called Prepared Piano.

Are You Prepared is open source software and is made from high-quality recordings of an authentically prepared piano true to the design of the late sound pioneer John Cage. It unlocks a treasure chest of outlandish sounds for composers and internet surfers alike.

As originally intended, the Are You Prepared samples have found their way round the world and the project now has a life of its own. It is still being re-mixed, downloaded and played at areyouprepared.dk.

The Are You Prepared-samples have been used by such diverse artists as American poetry-slammer Rachel Kahn, German MINECRAFT-composer C418, Norwegian Singer/Songwriter Thomas Dybdahl and Danish classical pianist Berit Johansen Tange.

The Are You Prepared-software holds the only free high-quality Prepared Piano samples on the market and is availiable for all larger music software platforms such as Pro Tools, Logic and Ableton Live.
Most recently the samples have been released for the Waldorf Blofeld hardware sampler.
